14:13the prophets Jeremiah reports that prophets were declaring the opposite of what Yahweh just told him. Perhaps Jeremiah believes that Yahweh has intentionally given a false message to the other prophets (see 1 Kgs 22).
14:14I have not sent them Yahweh directly refutes Jeremiah’s implicit accusation, declaring that the message from the lying prophets had not come from Him.
14:15those prophets will perish Not only did Yahweh not send those prophets, He will judge them for their deceit just as He will judge all Judah for their sin.
14:17Let my eyes melt with tears The true word from Yahweh is that He must judge, though it grieves Him to punish His people. Compare Jer 12:7–11.
14:18both prophet and priest All religious leaders are responsible for misleading the people.

That Islam is “peace and tolerance” is the most popular lie in the world today. Intellectuals in the West who defame Christ parrot the most fatuous praise of Muhammad, in spite of his legacy of murder, pillage, and rape. A Sesame Street-type Arabic TV program features children training to be suicide bombers and chanting “Death to Israel”—for peace, of course.
That our leaders promote this lie, and that so many believe it without one fact to support it, bodes ill for America and the world. We only ask Muslims for one example of where and when Islam ever brought peace and tolerance—and please don’t threaten us with death (the standard Islamic persuasion) for asking!
Westerners naively accept Allah, who inspired Muhammad, as the God of the Bible. Yet Allah has no son, and rejects the Trinity (Surah 4:171, Qur'an), is unknowable, and was the pagan idol/god of Muhammad's tribe before he was born. Allah tells Muslims, "Take not the Jews and Christians for friends...slay the idolaters [infidels] wherever ye find them. ...Fight against those who...believe not in Allah nor the Last Day" (Surah 5:51;9:5,29,41). But the triune God of the Bible wants men to know Him (Jer:9:24 ), a knowledge essential to salvation (Jn:17:3 ). The major proof that God offers of His own existence and that the Bible is His Word is prophecy. It foretells events centuries and even thousands of years in advance. Biblical prophecy is always fulfilled right on time in every detail.
Prophecy is absolutely unique to the Bible, being found in no other religious scriptures (though some contain false prophecies). Israel's prophets offered hundreds of prophecies concerning the promised Messiah so that He could be identified beyond question when He came as a humble, virgin-born child. After the resurrection, the apostles preached the gospel to everyone and everywhere, as Christ had commanded them. The two primary pieces of evidence were: 1) their own personal sworn testimony as eyewitnesses of what Christ taught and did (including His crucifixion and resurrection), though it cost them their lives as martyrs for refusing to ecumenically deny the truth they knew; and 2) the many prophecies in Scripture given centuries in advance, which were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. —Dave Hunt, TBC "According to the Scriptures," December 2007
